The ongoing work of the Wood Program and it’s research into various systems of building have been document in various publications and a travelling exhibition which was first shown at the Museum of Finnish Architecture in 2014.

In addition to and in cooperation with our our work in the design studio, students in the Wood Program sometimes collaborates with ongoing research projects in the Department of Architecture, the Department of Forest Products Technology and the Department of Civil and Structural Engineering. This work is organized by the research staff and doctoral candidates at Aalto University who are currently pursuing research projects in specific subjects in material science, wood construction and the environmental impact of various building materials and techniques.
